Ben Morrin
Ben became NHS Employers’ chief executive on 1 July 2026.
He joined from NHS England where he was the integration director who oversaw the bringing together of NHS England, NHS Digital and Health Education England and a senior responsible officer for the NHS’s strategic response to the first wave of COVID-19 across London. In the second COVID wave he was deputy CEO for Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Ben became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development (CIPD) in 2007. He is an alumni of Harvard Business School and in 2023 gained an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Hull for services to the NHS.
While workforce director at University College London NHS Hospitals Foundation Trust (UCLH) - from 2014 - he gained the CIPD’s national recruiter of the year award for industry-leading practice in talent and succession management. UCLH was the first NHS employer to assure the London Living Wage and enhanced rights for parents and carers of premature babies.
Prior to joining UCLH, Ben was a senior civil servant in the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit and the Department of Health.
He lives in Woolwich in south-east London with his family and is an avid supporter of Ipswich Town Football Club.
