Workforce Issues Group

The  Workforce Issues Group (WIG) enables employers and trade union reps to make positive contributions to the development and implementation of policies and work programmes that impact on the NHS workforce, with the aim to improve NHS staff experience and patient outcomes.

Areas of work the group is involved in include: transforming people services, management and leadership, tackling antisemitism and other forms of racism, improving bank staff experience, and inclusive nurse career progression. The group also has oversight of the SPF's work on preventing and reducing violence towards NHS Staff.

The group meets monthly and is chaired jointly by a representative from the Department of Health and Social Care and the NHS trade unions.
