The London Partnership was set up by employers, trade unions and NHS Employers' London engagement team.
Priorities for 2023/24
- Champion the change with leaders and influencers to support the NHS in London as an anchor institution.
- Accelerate the changes needed to improve inclusion, belonging and the experience of staff in the context of good work.
- Position social partnership working as a key enabler for transforming people services in the NHS, including promoting and contributing to elements of the future of NHS HR & organisational development (OD) programme.
- Through partnership working we will advocate and promote best employment practices. We will also issue joint positions to endorse this, such as payment for working additional hours and doing job evaluation well.
Achievements in 2022/23
- We participated in national working groups including the future of NHS HR & OD programme to make the NHS People Promise a reality via the production of:
- the first two national people policies on pregnancy and baby loss and menopause
- a report on the Expectations of line managers in relation to people management framework.
- We continued to champion the #InclusiveHR social movement by promoting the 5-step challenge for change and encouraging employers to adopt the methodology for improving the experience of BAME staff in HR and OD functions and by implementing the London workforce race equality strategy.
- We worked collaboratively with NHS England via the London SPF’s health and wellbeing subgroup to create a London strategy for Neurodiversity in the workplace.
- We ran the 2022 London Partnership Conference: Partnership working in the new normal: now and beyond.
