Steering group meeting 19th February 2009
- an update on the Quality Framework and Metrics, the Social Partnership Forum will be holding a further workshop dedicated to the issue in March 2009 to discuss links to the regulation and revalidation programme, the leadership agenda and to provide input on how staff can be engaged with this emerging area of policy
- an introduction to Dr Steve Boorman who will be leading the Review of NHS Health, Work and Well-being of NHS staff and discussions about future engagement for Social Partnership Forum and regional and local partnerships in this key area of work
- the Social Partnership Forum received clarification on the process for identifying and addressing underperforming providers in an update on the performance framework
- early discussions on the role of the Cooperation and Competition panel within the commissioning and service provision work described in the Transforming Community Services: Enabling new patterns of provision document. Lord Carter, the Chair of the Panel, will be invited to a future meeting to discuss the issues in full
- NHS Constitution Staff Engagement toolkit is in production with input from all partners and will be piloted in the East of England.
- the Social Partnership Forum received feedback from the National Jobs summit on the role the NHS has to play in the current employment climate. Local partnerships are asked to provide feedback and intelligence on this issue to their regional Social Partnership Forum
- a series of recommendations was proposed and agreed to complete the re-launch of Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) in England
- a set of principles and draft strategic agenda for the rest of 2009 was agreed.
