On 15 November the HR Transition Partnership Forum (HRTPF) co-chairs; Stephen Welfare and Karen Didovich, hosted a session at the NHS Employers conference to bring delegates up to speed on key developments in the HR transition work and the role of the HR Transition Partnership Forum. View their presentation here.
Stephen highlighted the progress which has been made over the last year on the HR transition, and signposted delegates to the key HR transition documents including the HR Transition Framework and the recently published Public Health Concordat. Karen provided a comprehensive summary of the Transition Framework, and highlighted the HR transition priorities going forward, including the development of People Transition Policies and sender guidance to support these.
Karen described the HRTPF's role and stressed that partnership working is critical in ensuring that the HR transition is consistent, and staff are supported during the process. Communication, staff engagement, partnership working at all levels, honesty and openness are all crucial in ensuring that change is managed successfully.
Feedback and questions from delegates focused on HR guidance for the transfer of staff to Commissioning Support Services, the scope of the Public Health Concordat and the need for better communication around the HR transition.
