Workforce implications of QIPP

The Government is commited to ensuring that QIPP continues to support the NHS to make efficiency savings, which can be reinvested back into the service to continually improve quality of care.

Whilst the Social Partnership Forum does not have a specific QIPP work programme, a number of its work programmes have a positive impact on improving productivity within the NHS.

In April 2010 we developed a set of guiding principles for working in partnership on this important area of work.

Our staff morale and engagement programme provides practical examples of how NHS organisations have been able to improve staff engagement, especially during times of financial challenge and change.

Our staff survey narrative sets out the business case for effective staff engagement, including clear evidence that improved staff engagement leads to more productive staff and improved patient care.

Our maximising opportunities for newly qualified graduates toolkit can be used to address workforce planning issues.

In addition, visit our case studies page to read about good practice from NHS organisations who have worked in partnership to make productivity improvements.
