Staff survey results and SPF priorities

The results from the most recent survey in 2009 show progress against the key priority areas identified by the Social Partnership Forum in previous years.

Results from the 2009 survey shows:

  • the lowest levels of physical violence and harassment from patients
  • a significant increase in the number of staff receiving appraisals and personal development
  • an increase in staff satisfaction with the quality of work and patient care
  • higher levels of job satisfaction and staff engagement.

These results are the most positive since the staff survey was created and they show that partnership working at all levels in paying off. However, it is important that we are not complacent and all levels of the NHS continue to work hard to maintain these improvements and make even more rapid progress.

We have reviewed these priorities based on the results of the 2009 survey and believe that they remain valid for the forthcoming year.
