The importance of staff engagement has been recognised in the Coalition Government’s White Paper - Equity and excellence: liberating the NHS.Page 40 of the White Paper says:
“Staff who are empowered, engaged and well supported provide better patient care. We will therefore promote staff engagement, partnership working and the implementation of Dr Steve Boorman’s recommendations to improve staff health and wellbeing”.
The Social Partnership Forum believes that the NHS staff survey has an important part to play in the relationship that the NHS has with its employees.
We have developed this narrative to:
- outline the business case for acting on the NHS staff survey results; through partnership working
- update and inform regional SPFs, TU representatives and NHS managers locally on national activity and resources with regards to priority areas identified by the NHS staff survey
